I'm an Administrative Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in materials engineering, manufacturing processes, and mechanical system design. My work focuses on bridging theoretical research with practical industrial applications, particularly in aerospace, automotive, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

I recently completed my role as an XR/VR Researcher with University of Michigan - NASA (SURE Program), where I designed immersive extended reality experiences for air traffic controller training using Apple Vision Pro. This international collaboration allowed me to work at the intersection of aerospace systems engineering, human factors research, and artificial intelligence.

My experience spans materials research and heat treatment optimization with industry leaders like Ternium and FRISA, mechanical system design and prototyping, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) research for sustainable manufacturing. I'm passionate about applying engineering principles to solve complex industrial challenges while advancing sustainability in manufacturing.

Based in Mexico City, I'm actively seeking opportunities that allow me to contribute to innovative projects in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing, where I can leverage my expertise in materials science, mechanical design, and emerging technologies like XR/VR and AI-assisted engineering systems.

Experience

Heat Treatment Optimization for Boron Steels
UDEM-Ternium Collaboration
August 2025 - December 2025
  • Developed comprehensive experimental procedures involving quenching, tempering, and carburizing processes to increase surface hardness above 50 HRC in boron steels, optimizing treatment parameters for industrial applications
  • Correlated thermal simulations with experimental results using ASTM G65 wear testing, microhardness measurements, and metallographic analysis, achieving strong agreement between predicted and actual material properties
  • Proposed optimized heat treatment cycles that improved wear resistance and mechanical performance, reducing premature failures and industrial reprocessing costs through data-driven process refinement
XR/VR Researcher – Aerospace Training Systems
University of Michigan – NASA (SURE Program)
June 2025 – September 2025
  • Designed immersive extended reality experiences for air traffic controller training using Apple Vision Pro, simulating real control tower environments with high-fidelity spatial interactions and realistic operational scenarios
  • Engineered Large Language Models (LLMs) as cognitive copilots to support strategic and tactical decision-making in air traffic control (ATC), implementing advanced prompt engineering techniques that enhanced training effectiveness
  • Developed interactive wireframes and functional prototypes in Figma, including flight trajectory visualizations, AI-generated suggestions, session timelines, and real-time performance monitoring dashboards for training assessment
  • Collaborated in international, multidisciplinary teams combining aerospace systems engineering, human factors research, and artificial intelligence to deliver innovative training solutions
Research Assistant – Manufacturing and Life Cycle Assessment
Universidad de Monterrey
August 2024 - May 2025
  • Conducted comprehensive research on reliable technical references and methodologies to support engineering decision-making based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in manufacturing processes, establishing frameworks for sustainable design practices
  • Analyzed and proposed solutions to complex industrial challenges presented by FRISA, focusing on process optimization, sustainability improvements, and resource efficiency in manufacturing operations
